Well it's long overdue with this website being in action for over a year, but here is my first blog post! I've been dying to share some more of the photos from this moonrise-themed styled bridal shoot that took place in July. Originally planned for March, this shoot had to deal with the ever-changing roller coaster of a pandemic. It was rescheduled again and again, until this summer when all of our amazing vendors could come together safely again.
First of all, to everyone who plans, design and executes several of these in a year - you're all absolute beasts. These shoots are no joke. In saying that, when everyone shows up with their A game and things turn out even better than you imagined, it's pure magic.
Also a huge thanks to all the vendors (scroll down for list) for their patience while I got my sh*t together to share these amazing photos my uber talented friend Cara (Cara Chapman Photography) captured (you know, #2020life). The shoot was also officially featured on Weddingbells blog yesterday, which is such an honour!
Behind the vision:
The pastel tones and sun bleached florals of this bohemian styled shoot were inspired by the end of a beach day well spent, soaking up sunshine and good vibes. As the sun bids goodbye and washes the sea and sky with a warm pink glow, the moon grows brighter in the sky, ready to cast its glow on the night. Its beauty often overshadowed by the Sun's setting rays, this shoot pays homage to the moon + all of its wonders, as it rises to light up the way for lovers in the night.Â
The gowns provided by Tilted Veil were the absolute perfect combination for our vision - hip, whimsical, and romantic. The jewelry was kept understated and earthy, complimenting the moonrise theme. Subtle and soft pops of colour warmed up the session. There was lots of DIY and use of handmade accessories and accents, keeping the shoot as sustainable as possible.
Since none of us are going to any warm beaches soon, I hope these pictures provide some warmth and escape while you plan your future getaways and beach weddings!
