Scorpio New Moon Wants You to Burn the Old Timeline

Updated: 1 day ago

The New Moon of Scorpio arrives Nov 19 at 10:47 pm PST at 28 degrees — a threshold degree, one that carries the weight of completion and the spark of initiation woven into a single point in time. New Moons always mark blank pages, but a Scorpio New Moon is never just a beginning. It is the pause after a truth has been revealed, the silence after a shedding, the realization that something within you has already died… and a new self is quietly forming in the dark.

Scorpio reminds us that endings are necessary compost. They break down the old stories we’ve outgrown and return their nutrients to the soil of our becoming. This sign rules the underworld not because it is dark, but because it is honest; not because it destroys, but because it purifies. And at 28°, Scorpio is operating at full potency — the Phoenix stage, where ashes become the raw material of rebirth.

The Mythic Power of Scorpio

To understand the weight of this New Moon, we have to understand Scorpio’s mythic evolution. It is the only sign with multiple symbolic forms: the Scorpion, the Snake, the Eagle, and the Phoenix. Each form tells a story about power, instinct, and transformation.

The Scorpion reflects our primal reactions — the stingers we develop to protect the parts of us that were once unsafe. The Eagle rises above these survival patterns of the emotional underworld with clarity and foresight. And the Phoenix, Scorpio’s final form, embraces the fire of destruction as a necessary precursor to rebirth by releasing these patterns.

This New Moon belongs to the Phoenix… Something has completed its cycle, and what’s left is the glowing ember of what comes next.

A Scorpio New Moon as a Sacred Reset

A New Moon represents the merging of the Sun and Moon — the conscious mind and emotional body aligning at the same threshold. It is a void space, a cosmic womb. Nothing is defined yet, which means everything is possible.

In Scorpio, the void becomes intentional. This is the moment before emergence, where truth has not yet taken shape but you can feel it forming under your skin. Scorpio doesn’t ask for forced release or performative letting go — it shows you what has already expired, what can no longer travel with you, what has been waiting to fall away.

The invitation is simple and profound: to stop resisting the patterns and cycles that have already ended, and to make space for the next iteration of self.

Rebuilding the Future From the Inside Out

What makes this New Moon especially powerful is the long-term dialogue happening between Pluto and Uranus — two planets that reshape collective eras.

Pluto (Scorpio's ruling planet) began its Aquarius transit late 2024 — a twenty-year cycle that will redefine our relationship to power, community, identity, and the systems that hold society together. Pluto in Aquarius is concerned with the architecture of the future — the structures, technologies, and collective values that will shape the next two decades of human life. It asks us to examine where we’ve given away our agency, where outdated systems need to crumble, and what “freedom” actually means in practice.

Meanwhile, Uranus (Aquarius’ ruler) is completing its eight-year journey through Taurus, where it has been shaking up our relationship to safety, resources, embodiment, money, the Earth, and the physical world since 2018. Uranus remains in Taurus until April 2026, and this is its final stretch. The ground beneath us has already shifted; now it’s about aligning with the truth of what remains.

With Pluto in Aquarius forming a supportive trine to Uranus in Taurus, the two planets are working together to clear space for long-term reconstruction. This is one of the last times they will communicate through these signs, making this window especially potent.

This is not a collapse, but a blueprint moment before the rebuild. It’s the chance to anchor your life in values that actually reflect who you are now — not who you were when this Uranus cycle began in 2018. It’s the opportunity to make decisions that support your long-term stability, sovereignty, and soul-aligned direction. If the last seven years brought disruption, this phase is about integration and intentional rebuilding.

Mars in Sagittarius: Presence in the Now

Scorpio’s traditional ruler, Mars, has just crossed into Sagittarius — a noticeable shift after weeks of emotional excavation. Where Scorpio dives deep to understand, Sagittarius leaps forward to live the truth. There is movement again. Breath. Instinct. A sense of expansion returning to the body.

Mars is squaring the Virgo–Pisces nodal axis, activating the tension between precision and flow, control and surrender. Virgo wants logic; Pisces wants hope; Sagittarius wants honesty. This combination creates a visceral awareness of where you’ve been micromanaging your life out of fear and where life is asking you to leap. Not every step can be planned. Some are meant to be felt. You won’t always know the destination, but you can stay present in the now and enjoy the journey while maintaining hope for the future.

Scorpio Stellium Opposing Uranus: The Rewriting of Intimacy + Power

With the Sun, Moon, Mercury Retrograde, and Lilith all gathered in Scorpio and opposing Uranus, this lunation becomes a psychological turning point. Old patterns around intimacy, boundaries, money, sex, trust, and emotional honesty rise to the surface ... not to punish, but to liberate.

You may suddenly see a relational pattern clearly for the first time. A truth may break through denial or a need may become impossible to ignore.

This is the kind of astrology that rewires the nervous system; the moment when the subconscious meets the conscious and something clicks into place. Scorpio asks you to reclaim the parts of yourself you’ve hidden to 'earn love'. Uranus asks you to show up differently this time.

The Grand Water Trine: A Soft Landing in the Deep

Amidst the intensity of this Scorpio New Moon, the sky is held by a Grand Water Trine — a rare, stabilizing flow between Scorpio, Pisces, and Cancer. Water is the element of feeling, intuition, memory, and the unseen; when all three water signs support one another, emotional truth becomes clarifying rather than overwhelming.

In Scorpio, the Sun, Moon, Mercury Retrograde, and Lilith bring us into contact with what’s real — the shadow material, the desires, the deeper layers beneath our defenses. It’s the part of us willing to face what needs to be transformed.

Across the chart, Saturn, Neptune, and the North Node gather in Pisces, softening the edges of that process. Saturn gives shape to intuition, Neptune dissolves old emotional stories, and the North Node points toward surrender as a pathway to growth. It’s a reminder that not everything needs to be “figured out” — some things need to be felt and witnessed.

Jupiter in Cancer completes the triad, expanding our sense of emotional safety and reminding us of the importance of nourishment, connection, and home (within and around us). Cancer’s medicine is gentleness — a return to the parts of us that need care, especially as Scorpio asks for release. It’s message is simple: you’re not unraveling — you’re being supported through a transition your soul is already prepared for. Even in deep change, there is softness and something is holding you.

A New Beginning Rooted in Truth

This New Moon marks the end of a long chapter ... not just astrologically, but spiritually and emotionally. It invites you to reclaim the parts of yourself you buried to survive. It reminds you that rebirth is not a reward; it is a natural consequence of staying connected to and embodying your truth.

The next chapter is waiting for you to make space. If you’d like to understand where some of these once-in-a-lifetime transits are affecting you, book a Cosmic Forecast Reading here.

PS. Astrobloom New Moon Circles have been in a long slumber ... but I'm so excited to again gather with you all for these potent lunations as bring them back in a seasonal capacity next month! Stay tuned :)

Where is this New Moon (25–29° Scorpio) landing in my chart, and what part of my life feels ready for a truthful reset?

What relational or intimacy pattern feels like it has reached its natural ending?

Where am I being asked to surrender into uncertainty instead of gripping for control?

How have recent experiences revealed clarity about what “safe intimacy” feels like in my body?

What truth — about desire, timing, boundaries, or connection — am I finally ready to accept?

Embodying the Liminal

  1. Prepare

    • A candle

    • Small bowl of warm water with epsom salts (or your bath)

    • A slip of paper + pen

    • Fire-safe dish

Dim the lights. Let the space feel quiet and contained.

  2. Name what's ending

On your slip of paper, write one pattern, belief, or attachment that feels complete ... especially around intimacy, control, or truth.

    Keep it simple and honest.

  3. Burn it

Hold the paper to the candle flame.

Drop it into your dish and let it turn to ash.

Say (silently or aloud): “What is complete dissolves now.”

  4. Cleanse

Dip your hands into the warm salted water,

or submerge your body briefly if you’re in the bath.

Let the water wash away any residue of the pattern you released.

    Say: “I return to myself.”

  5. Close

Place your hands on your heart or womb.

Take three slow breaths.“I rise renewed.”

Then move into your journal prompts.
