Scorpio Full Moon: Radical Truth

We’re officially in Taurus season, and the Scorpio Full Moon opposes the Sun at 4 degrees at 7:48 pm EST on April 23rd.

If you have personal planets around 4 degrees of the fixed signs (Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, Aquarius), this energy will be impacting you quite personally.  Find out if this is you by signing up to the Lunar Alchemy Collective, where you’ll get full access to this article and instructions on pulling up your chart & learning how the energy is affecting you.  If not, you will still be affected by this energy wherever you have these degrees in your chart.

This Full Moon is the culmination of what was initiated during the Aries Solar Eclipse on April 8th.  Make sure to reflect on what initiation took place then (particularly around your inner masculine) to lay the foundation for what will come to light on April 23rd.

Cultivating Fertile Soil for Growth

If Aries is the initiation and the first burst of life in early spring, Taurus season is when young plants start to gather the strength and stability to stand on their own.  Taurus rules the principle of accumulation, and in the element of earth - it’s all about the accumulation of resources that ensure survival.  During this time, our focus is drawn to putting in the work to ensure we have resources for the year - whether that is tending to young plants, preparing the soil, tending to our bodies or our finances (is it surprising that it’s tax season?).

We are also still feeling the effect of the Jupiter and Uranus conjunction that took place in Taurus on April 20, as a new 14 year cycle was initiated surrounding our beliefs regarding our self-worth, relationship to abundance and resources.  As Jupiter transits the last few degrees of Taurus over the next month, we will continue to release old visions and beliefs that are no longer in alignment with our values.  Only by clearing this space - by turning over the soil - can we create space for the abundance that is waiting to enter our lives.  Under the influence of Uranus, sudden and rapid change is likely to take place, so it is incredibly important to stay rooted (metaphorically and physically) in ourselves, our self-worth and self-trust.

Creating from Worthiness & Presence

As with every full moon, a polarity is illuminated, as the Sun & Moon align on the axis of Taurus & Scorpio.  Taurus represents life, the physical realm, self-sufficiency, self-worth, values, resources needed for survival/what we own for ourselves; and is connected to the heart chakra and throat. Scorpio represents death, transformation, shadow-work, intimacy, sex, the mental/emotional realm, power, and the resources we share with others (whether they are material or energetic) and rules over the solar and sacral chakras, as well as the reproductive system.

For the highest expression of each sign to manifest, a seed of its polar opposite must exist within.  This means that the highest Taurus energy is mindfully rooted in the present through its senses and its connection to the body.  It understands that all it needs for its survival comes from this connection to the Earth, and that it isn’t afraid of change & letting go of things outside of itself.  It knows its inherent worth is unwavering.  Meanwhile, the highest expression of Scorpio exists with the understanding that death clears the way for rebirth, that the deepest intimacy comes from being intimately honest with ourselves, and that life can be simple if we focus on the now. Scorpio energy knows that the only way to cultivate deep, honest connection is by first being fully honest with ourselves. It means getting to the deepest truth within yourself to uncover any hidden or rejected parts of self - your shadow.
